Welcome to the Institute of Economic and Social Administration (IAES).
Each year, as we kick off the academic calendar, we are reminded that our institute's main mission is to warmly welcome diligent students eager to embark on a multidisciplinary education that embraces the humanities and social sciences. These fields are essential for the smooth and prosperous operation of the modern world.
As a distinct entity within the Sorbonne Law School and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, IAES owes its success to the unwavering dedication of our committed teams, who ensure the success of every student.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF AES
Since the inception of Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the focus on labour relations and social policies has held a unique and significant place in our teaching and research activities. This forms the bedrock of the AES Institute.
The Economic and Social Administration program integrates elements of law, economics, management, and the social sciences. It equips students with the skills required for various administrative and managerial roles in both public and private organizations with economic, social, or cultural dimensions.
In our quest to enhance the professional integration of our students, our program offers pre-professionalization models and encourages students to engage in internships.
MERGER AND TRANSFORMATION
On April 14, 2015, the Board of Directors of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University approved the merger of the Teaching and Research Unit (TRU) into a unified TRU of Law. Consequently, TRU 12, which previously encompassed Work and Social Studies, Economic and Social Administration, and Social Law, was dissolved. Social Law programs are now affiliated with the Sorbonne Law School.
The former TRU 12 has evolved into the Institute of Economic and Social Administration (IAES) within the Sorbonne Law School.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
The Institute of Economic and Social Administration (IAES) offers a comprehensive multidisciplinary training program centred around the theme of labour. Providing access to master's degrees, the AES bachelor’s degree aims to educate students in the scientific and methodological foundations of various disciplinary fields, including Law, Economics, Management, History, and Sociology.
